Cities are always like people, showing their multifaceted personalities to its residents. Yesterday, we went for a photoshoot walk ( inspired by Prakton definitely) around Victoria Memorial. I met an interesting personality in the gardens. A Bilayati man as confused about his career as I am now. He did masters in Arts and then did medicine and was a demonstrator in Anatomy . No, no , the tale doesn’t end here. Our super efficient British rulers posted him in Indian Medical Service as a physician and a “botanist”! So he was the professor of Botany at the Medical College of Calcutta. And ended up designing the gardens of Victoria memorial with Lord Redesdale. So guys we have one more reason to thank the Scottish highlands and a department of Botany in Calcutta Medical College.
